Hello beautiful people!
Happy 2025 ā¦ā¦ and my best wishes for a prosperous and productive year for you and your family.
Welcome to Issue #1 of FieldNotes for 2025. I spent the end of 2025 focused on magical experiences with my family and fiancĆ©. Broadway shows, Phoenix family visit, and a couple āgetawaysā for New Yearās all fed my soul and recharged my batteries for this new period and chapters in my journey.
I am entering this year with a big, mixed bundle of emotions.
Excited about my passion and focus on Coaching, Writing, and Speaking
Concern about the current trends in the DEI space, especially the āpulling backā phenomenon.
Outright worry about the incoming Presidential Administration and the impact of the transition on me, my family, and my community
Empathy for my Momās continuing decline in health and how best to support her
Recognition and Celebration that I turn 60 this year and I get married in the Fall!!
Many people start the year with Resolutions.
I am not a big fan of that process, but I do always enter the year with Reflections and almost write a version of a self-review. I am very goal oriented and I am a planner, but as I have learned and coached, it is important to not have every moment in a year planned.
This allows for creativity, spontaneity, surprise, delight, and growth.
I encourage all of you to build personal time into your daily, weekly, and monthly plans. Set your own intentions for 2025 as you see fit.

2024 proved what I've always known: being authentically yourself isn't just good for the soul - it's good for business too.
After 35 years in corporate leadership, I embraced my next chapter as an author, speaker, and executive coach. The response has been overwhelming ā not because I have all the answers, but because authenticity creates connection.
This year's journey brought incredible moments:

⢠Got engaged to my incredible partner Dr. Joe (September 2025 wedding!)

In order to do that, weāre going to continue to focus on developing our people, whether itās having marketing that is welcoming and inclusive, using the league as a unifierāa platform to welcome all of us to the game of football.ā
āOverall this provides a media narrative of conservatives winning over progressives which was a big theme for 2024. Costco has run directly contrary to that narrative,ā he said by email. āAnd its formal response to an investor tactic (āDEI raises stockholder riskā), is a statement that [not only] refutes the premise but also states that these investors are not doing so in the interest of Costco but a larger political agenda. As the 5th largest retailer in the world, this is a loud statement.ā

The character remains in the show, but a few lines of dialogue that referenced gender identity are being removed. A source close to Win or Lose said the studio made the decision to alter course several months ago.
Disney declined to comment on any further details.
The world can be a scary place. There are many challenges facing our community and our planet currently, but I know from experience that it is easier to face the realities with friends, partners, and family by your side.
